Michael Polite is a boutique grower with a focus in specialty and culinary herbs who operates Sky Bright Herbs, a zero-waste nursery stock grower. Priority is placed on sustainable business practices in order to minimize any adverse impact on the environment.

Future plans include the growth and cultivation of Louisiana Native plants. Michael is extremely excited about the prospect of working with landscapers to show how natives can be successfully planted with ornamentals to create a beautiful fusion! The Mid City community has been growing stronger and stronger each year. Sky Bright Herbs wants to motivate merchants to provide a pleasant sensory environment which exudes good energy. As a business owner himself, Michael is looking to benefit other Mid City business owners. Polite stated that he firmly believes the aesthetic benefits of attractive herbal/vegetative plantings can create a pleasing impression which will invite more customers and positively impact a merchant’s bottom line. You may have seen Sky Bright Herbs featured at booths with the Mid City makers market, White Light Night, or more recently contributing to the BR Walls Project’s MLK festival earlier this month.

Michael comes decorated with plenty of certifications and splits his time volunteering for many of the Baton Rouge environmental groups including BREC’s Greenforce and the Herb Society of Baton Rouge. He is mixing his passion for preservation of indigenous Louisiana plant life with his growing business model. Working with the community every step of the way. Look for Sky Bright Herbs at upcoming Mid City events or find him on Facebook/ Instagram to let him help curate all of your plant based needs!
