FixUp! home repair
FIXUP! is the largest all-volunteer housing repair initiative in Baton Rouge. Since 1993, over 250 homes, 6 schools, and 7 nonprofit agencies have been repaired by over 12,000 corporate and community volunteers through the FIXUP! program.
We have adopted a block concept for the program, so all repairs are concentrated in the same neighborhood. The block concept creates a community event with all volunteers, homeowners, and homeowner families participating and interacting with each other and helps to magnify out impact.
* Please note: We are no longer accepting applications for FIXUP Home Repair in 2019. The application period will open up again in 2020*
The Tool Lending Program is a part of our neighborhood outreach and community building effort. We rent tools to Mid City residents needing to make home repairs, landscape or host community events.
The program encourages residents to 1. initiate small improvement projects themselves by giving them access to wrenches, saws, sanders, drills, rakes, and wheel barrows among many other important tools, or 2) host community events and community clean ups by giving them access to tables, chairs, tents and lights. We are empowering everyone to make a difference.
